Presenters will explore how collaboration leads to innovation and project success through discussing Biidaaban Kinoomaagegamik, an elementary school for Sagamok Anishnawbek. Through strong partnerships with the client and community, multidisciplinary design team, and contractor, the project delivered culturally rooted, climate-conscious solutions. Topics include rightsholder engagement, CLT design strategies, building code navigation, delegated design, and sustainable coordination through all phases.

Stephanie Campbell, M.Arch., OAA, NSAA, SAA, MRAIC, Senior Architect; Manager, Sudbury Architectural & Structural Department; Practice Lead, Education K-12
Stephanie Campbell is an architectural leader specializing in education and mass timber design. As Practice Lead for Education K-12, she works closely with clients, project managers, and design teams to improve how education projects are delivered. She brings diverse perspectives together to create thoughtful, buildable, and usable spaces. Stephanie co-presented with Sébastien on CLT to JLR staff, and with Grant Campbell at the Waasnode Housing Conference on innovative strategies to address housing costs.

Sébastien Bernard, M.A. Sc., P.Eng., ing., Senior Structural Engineer; Practice Lead, Post Secondary Education
Sébastien is a Senior Structural Engineer whose responsibilities include structural analysis and design of new and existing buildings, preparation of construction drawings, contract documents, cost opinions, and contract administration for the municipal, industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors. He is the firm’s subject matter expert for mass timber, presenting at conferences including CCEE and Wood Conferences in Canada and the US, while also leading internal lunch and learns for JLR.
