Precast concrete technology has changed little in decades, yet its potential is continually rediscovered. This session reframes precast as an adaptive interface, a medium where design vision meets logistics, craft, and performance. Through five case studies, we show how collaboration makes a familiar system newly expressive, sustainable, and innovative.

Tomer Diamant, M.Arch, OAA, MRAIC, Principal, Teeple Architects
Tomer Diamant has been with Teeple Architects since 2008, and a Principal since 2018, where he leads projects across housing, higher education, and civic and cultural institutions. His work spans a wide geographic and social terrain, from Atlantic Canada to British Columbia, and from the Canadian Arctic to the United States, reflecting a practice grounded in close collaboration with communities, clients, and local partners. He received his Master of Architecture from the University of Toronto in 2008, where he was awarded the ARCC King Medal for Architectural and Environmental Research, and holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba. Tomer is currently leading several low-carbon projects, including the University of Guelph Lang School of Business, the Brampton Arts and Culture Centre, Quayside Block 1C on Toronto’s eastern waterfront, a mixed-income development delivering more than 300 units of affordable housing, and the Glace Bay Youth and Family Centre in Cape Breton. His recent work includes the Desautels Concert Hall at the University of Manitoba and the Calvin and Tina Tyler Hall Student Services Center at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Wes Wilson, H.Bas, M.Arch, Architect OAA, MRAIC, Intl. Assoc. AIA, Principal, Teeple Architects
Wes Wilson is a Principal at Teeple Architects, where he leads civic and academic projects across Canada, including libraries, university buildings, and other public institutions. His work explores the relationship between architectural intent, material systems, and construction craft, with a focus on how buildings move from concept to constructed reality. Working closely with engineers, fabricators, and contractors from early design through construction, he is interested in how coordination, detailing, and manufacturing intelligence can strengthen both performance and expression. Wes views architecture as a public act, work that shapes shared environments and carries cultural value beyond its immediate function. His approach balances technical rigor with design ambition and is grounded in the belief that well-made buildings contribute meaningfully to civic life over time.
