This interactive session moves beyond basic AI usage to demonstrate how Large Language Models can transform architectural problem-solving, particularly for complex, multi-stakeholder projects. Most architects have experimented with AI for simple tasks, such as searching for information, composing emails, or conducting basic research. This session reveals how the same technology can become a sophisticated collaborator for complex design challenges, especially in healthcare, senior living, and any human-centred environments where multiple perspectives must be balanced.

Arezoo Talebzadeh, Senior Architect, Montgomery Sisam Architects
Arezoo Talebzadeh is a senior architect and soundscape researcher practicing in Toronto. She holds a PhD in Architectural Science and Engineering from Ghent University (Belgium), a Master of Design for Health from OCAD University (Canada), and a Master of Architecture from Azad University (Iran).
With 20 years of experience designing mixed-use, commercial, and institutional projects across Canada, she has recently focused on long-term care, retirement homes, and senior housing, applying evidence-based design principles to create environments that serve vulnerable populations. Arezoo’s research expertise in sensory design—particularly acoustic environments for dementia care—bridges the gap between theoretical research and practical application in built environments.
As a soundscape researcher, Arezoo investigates how acoustic design can help residents with dementia sense time and space, fostering quality of life and personal agency in care facilities. As part of her research, she used Large Language Models (LLMs) to optimize sound selection in Dementia Care Environments.
Arezoo is a passionate advocate for inclusive design that goes beyond accessibility compliance to embrace the full spectrum of human diversity, including cognitive differences, sensory variations, and cultural backgrounds. She believes inclusive design is a pathway to innovation that benefits all. Arezoo introduced and chairs a new session, “Soundscape and Inclusion, from theory to practice,” at the Annual European Conference on Acoustics (Málaga 2025 and Graz 2026). This session explores the need for an inclusive lens in soundscape research, focusing on the creation and assessment of acoustic environments that examine aural diversity, neurodiversity, and diverse hearing abilities.
