At the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on April 15, the OAA honoured its newest Members of Long Standing—individuals who have achieved the milestone of 50 years of membership with the OAA, contributing to Ontario’s built environment and its architecture profession.
Among this year’s honourees was Michael H.K. Wong.

After earning his architecture degree from the University of Manitoba in 1966, Michael apprenticed under masters Eb Zeidler and Ron Thom, contributing to iconic projects like Ontario Place, McMaster Health Centre, Trent University, and the Westin Prince Hotel. These experiences shaped him into a better designer and Architect, laying the foundation for his success in international competitions.

As a member of AIA, RIBA, and RA in Macau, Michael’s global portfolio includes Leadership Square in Oklahoma City, Shenzhen Gas Industrial Base, Coloane tourist development in Macau, and the China Mobile Central Building in Guangzhou, which earned him the prestigious 2011 Luban Award. A Fellow of the RAIC, he has also received accolades from the University of Toronto and the Canada Chinese Business Council.
