The Opportunity

We are seeking an Intermediate Architect or Architectural Technologist with project management capability to join our education studio. This is a hybrid delivery role: you will manage the day-to-day delivery of school and education projects - coordinating clients, consultants, and internal teams while remaining hands-on in the production of high-quality technical documentation.

You will work closely with Principals and senior staff through all project phases, from design development through construction, on projects for school boards and post-secondary institutions. This role suits someone who enjoys both the technical craft of architecture and the coordination, communication, and problem-solving that keep projects moving.

What You'll Do

Project Management

• Manage day-to-day delivery of education projects from design development through construction, keeping schedule, scope, and budget on track.
• Lead client and consultant meetings; prepare agendas, minutes, and status updates.
• Coordinate sub-consultant input and integrate it into project deliverables.
• Develop and maintain project plans and workplans, and monitor progress against them.
• Communicate proactively with clients, school boards, and stakeholders to address project requirements and resolve issues.
• Delegate and review tasks within the project team, ensuring clarity and accountability.
• Participate in contract administration, including site reviews, RFIs, and review of shop drawings.

Technical Delivery

• Produce design development and construction documentation, digital models, drawings, and outline specifications in Revit.
• Analyze and apply building codes, zoning by-laws, and other applicable regulations.
• Coordinate internal project deliverables and day-to-day oversight across project phases.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews of project documentation.
• Support the preparation of community, stakeholder, and client presentations.
• Mentor and support junior team members, and contribute to a collaborative, participatory studio culture.

What You Bring

• Degree or diploma in architecture, architectural technology, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in architecture, including experience coordinating or managing project delivery.
• Experience on institutional projects; K–12 or post-secondary education experience is a strong asset.
• Solid understanding of the Ontario Building Code, technical documentation, and construction contract administration.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance competing timelines and deliverables across multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a collaborative, professional work ethic.
• High proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is an asset.
• OAA licensure (or active pursuit), OACETT certification, or accreditations such as LEED AP are assets.
• An interest in growing into greater project leadership responsibility over time.
