Fellow OAA Members:
Many of you may already know me based on my ongoing role on Council for the last six years. I've held positions as VP Practice (2 years), SVP (1 year), President (2 years) and Immediate Past President for this current year.
My intention to run is simply based on the fact that I and Council as a whole have some unfinished business that we have been working at over my tenure on Council. This includes various items but more importantly is the updates/modernization of the Architects Act which is nearly 40 years old.
Based on the experience I've gained over the last 6 years on Council, previously in my many roles on my Local Architectural Society the Windsor Region Society of Architects (WRSA) as Treasurer and Chair, Prodemnity Board, Regulatory Organizations of Architecture in Canada (ROAC) and currently the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) I feel I can continue to significantly contribute to the mandate of OAA.
I've gained a deep understanding of the role of the OAA as a regulator of the practice of architecture in the province of Ontario and its primary role in protecting the public interest and feel that I can continue to make contribution to the organization and the individuals it regulates.
