Provide a brief summary of your practice experience.
My experience spans 30+ years working on diverse project types and within differently-sized organizations. I had the privilege of filling multiple roles throughout the life cycle of a project. Held technical, managerial and leadership roles working with teams from 7 to 40 team members. I've also done part-time teaching at 3 Colleges in Ontario and participated in delivering the FRAP course for architects starting their own practice.
Provide a brief summary of your previous governance experience (boards, councils, committees, advisory groups, etc.).
I previously serged as OAA Council member 2017-2019. Served on the Continued Education Committee and Board member at the OAAAS architectural technologists. Also, board member at the Perl-Dufferin Catholic Family Services serving local communities.
Why are you interested in serving on Council at this time?
I'd like to volunteer my time to give back to the profession. This includes addressing new challenges facing education, practice, compensation of architects and advocating for the profession.
What do you believe are the key challenges or priorities for Council over the next one to three years?
Some of the major challenges are the role of the Architect in the Age of AI, contributing to the wider role of architects in building sustainable communities, housing issues, urban, neighborhoods and cities in the new tech age.
