I am running for OAA Council to bring a grounded, collaborative, and practice-based perspective—one shaped by project experience, regulatory service, and a deep respect for the OAA’s public-interest mandate. I believe Council plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our profession while supporting architects in their responsibility to serve the public good.

As a Licensed Technologist OAA and Partner at RAW Design, my work spans housing, adaptive re-use, heritage, commercial, and retail projects. My approach is technically grounded and collaborative, shaped by time spent with clients and on-site with builders and trades, finding practical solutions that bridge design and construction. I bring that same approachable, problem-solving mindset to how I lead and work with others, and I hope to bring it to Council as well.

I have previously served on the board of the OAAAS, the former technologist program of the OAA. That experience reinforced my understanding of the Association’s regulatory and public-interest mandate and the importance of ensuring that all professional pathways contribute to a strong and accountable profession.

I value collaboration and diversity of thought. I believe our profession benefits most when it welcomes different voices and lived experiences. This belief led me to help establish the RAW Summer Camp, now in its fifth year, which introduces architecture to youth from underrepresented communities. Programs like this reflect what I value most: creating space for diverse perspectives and making our profession more inclusive and accessible.

As a partner in a mid-sized practice, I understand the realities of firm life — managing teams, balancing budgets, and navigating a challenging market. That experience has given me strong financial literacy and a clear understanding of how business decisions affect both staff and project outcomes. I believe Council benefits from members who bring technical and financial insight, grounded in day-to-day practice and collaboration.

I would be honoured to serve and contribute to an OAA Council that continues to uphold the public interest, strengthen our profession, and foster a culture of openness and respect.
