Newly graduated Near North District School Board student Russell Scarrow spent the spring and summer searching out and applying for scholarships before heading off to university.
It’s a good thing, he said, with costs even higher than he’d expected.
“Since I’m in architecture, we have to buy all our materials and our textbooks; there’s lots of fees adding up,” he said.
He received scholarships from the North Bay Society of Architects, Parry Sound District Rotary (he’d been a volunteer shopper for the COVID-19 grocery program) and funds from Parry Sound High School for meeting academic goals.
