Designing for Dignity: Call for Proposals and Suggestions

Help Shape the Events at the 2023 OAA Conference in Sudbury

Next year’s OAA Conference, Designing for Dignity, will be happening June 21 to 23 in Sudbury. For the first time, the OAA is holding its annual conference at the gateway to Northern Ontario—a place of resource extraction and regeneration, of remoteness and richness, of communities and challenges. The setting prompts us to have new conversations as well as to learn from and collaborate with local communities about the role the profession must play in supporting dignity for all.

The Continuing Education components for the event are still taking shape. The OAA wants to take an experiential approach through the lens of this unique location and theme. Next year’s Conference is about getting out in the community, learning about the local environment adjacent to urban issues, and hearing about local challenges related to architecture. Do you want to be a speaker or simply have a suggestion for a compelling tour excursion, local case study subject, or topic for an in-person ConEd session? Share your thoughts at Sudbury2023@oaa.on.ca by Friday, December 2.
