We are a small practice located in downtown Oakville. Established in 1998 and incorporated in 2016, the firm provides architectural consulting services to corporate, government and private clients throughout Southern Ontario. Our projects include a broad range of types and scale.
We are a growing firm, now seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team. The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of building design concepts and systems. It is also important to have sound technical abilities, skilled in problem solving and have exceptional attention to detail. The candidate needs to be a proficient communicator in both written and oral disciplines and must have successfully completed an architectural/ technical diploma program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years’ work experience in an architectural or design firm
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and consultants.
- Experience with time management of team resources effectively to undertake multiple projects or facets of various projects.
- High proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, competence in 3dsmax, Sketch up, MS Office Suite, Adobe, Photoshop. Other software capabilities are an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of building systems and materials, construction detailing and techniques
- Experience with Building Codes and related reference documents
- Prior experience in project management, project delivery, and client management
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills,
- Familiarity with site planning, zoning, and other regulatory requirements
- Positive attitude, cheerful outlook and commitment to professional growth
Responsibilities
- Meet with the firm’s principals, project managers, and clients to review project requirements.
- Take on a project assignment and carry the project through in its entirety to completion.
- Ability to prepare architectural drawing packages at various stages of the project under supervision of Project Managers and Architects.
- Contribute to the overall success of the projects by utilizing best practices.
- Identify and solve technical problems. Critical thinking.
- Direct and assist with the production of all drawings and deliverables throughout all phases of assigned projects.
- Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
- Coordination of documents with other disciplines including engineers and consultants.
- Preparation for Planning, Committee of Adjustment, Permitting and other approvals processes.
- Site Review and Construction Administration of projects.
- Liaise with management, project team, and consultants.
Assets
- Registered as an Intern, and/or completed Intern with the Ontario Association of Architects
- Competence in MicroStation
- Computer-related IT knowledge
Salary Range 70,000-85,000
