Project Management, Interior Design

As an Interior Designer at VFA, you will be responsible for leading and project managing a team to help transform client spaces into beautifully functional environments. You will work closely with clients, in-house architects, and contractors to develop innovative design solutions from concept through to completion. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong project management skills, and the ability to balance creativity with practicality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Create and present design concepts, including mood boards, color schemes, and material selections that align with clients’ visions and project requirements.

  • Space Planning: Develop detailed floor plans and layouts to optimize space functionality and flow.

  • Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget, providing expert advice and tailored design solutions.

  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and 3D renderings to communicate design ideas effectively to clients and construction teams.

  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and coordination with contractors and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.

  • Material Selection: Source and recommend materials, furnishings, and finishes, ensuring that all elements work harmoniously together.

  • Construction Admin: Conduct site visits to monitor progress, address any issues, and ensure the design is implemented according to specifications.

  • BIM:  Work alongside ArchiCAD BIM Manager to create and update interior design drawing templates in ArchiCAD and set up drawings standards for the studio

  • Rendering: Create developed renders of interior design spaces to ensure effective communication of design ideas

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Architecture, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in interior design, with a focus on custom, single family and multi-unit residential projects.

  • Must be proficient in ArchiCAD, Twinmotion & Adobe Suite

  • Must be able to create 3D renderings in ArchiCAD + Twinmotion

  • Must be able to create rendered elevations in ArchiCAD

  • Must have experience creating full set of construction drawings with exceptional ability for interior detailing

  • Must have previous experience working with architects

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants and team members.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Please provide a portfolio showcasing previous residential interior design projects and working drawing samples

  • Minimum accreditation: intern membership with ARIDO (or equivalent)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sustainable design practices

  • Understanding of sustainable and low carbon footprint and low life cycle materials
