Located on Vancouver Island in downtown Victoria and surrounded by natural beauty, we are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Technologist to join our team. We're looking for a self- motivated team member who can work independently, communicate effectively with team members, and can manage several congruent workflows. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of creating working drawings for a wide range of project types.  In this role, you will also be called to push for results within timelines, adhering to our company design standards. 

 

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Produce contract documents on a variety of project types and sizes.
  • Analyzing building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports.
  • Preparing drawings (CAD or otherwise), specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantity take-offs of material from conceptual drawings and instructions
  • Developing designs using VectorWorks and/or SketchUp, creating 3D photo-realistic renderings (preferred, but not essential), and assisting in producing design presentations for client meetings.
  • Contributing to our evolving technical detail and process library, to increase our work efficiency.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree, or an experience equivalence.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in the field of Architecture.
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience working with both VectorWorks and SketchUp is a priority.
  • An understanding and awareness of project profitability.
  • A growth mindset.
  • A sense of humour will also serve you well.

Salary Commensurate with experience, starting at 65K.
