POSITION: Intermediate Architectural Technologist

Your responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development of architectural designs under the supervision of principal architect and senior staff
  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents
  • Prepare CAD drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions
  • Construct architectural 3-D virtual models and renderings of architectural designs
  • Assist with the preparation of contract and bidding documents
  • Perform the duties of an Architectural Job Captain
  • Supervise junior technologists on the architectural team
  • Coordinate with various engineering and building consultants for the preparation of design and working drawings for approvals, tender and construction
  • Visit construction project sites to review work on site, prepare reports and assist in answering question from contractors

 

Our perfect candidate will be someone who is well-organized, proactive, outgoing, and able to work independently and be able to ‎multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The minimum technical skills required for the position are:

  • A 3 year degree from a reputable architectural technology programme
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience as an architectural technologist
  • Superior drafting skills and ability to adhere to strict drafting standards
  • Well-grounded knowledge of building science, detailing, construction methodology and materials application
  • Very good understanding of OBC and various building codes
  • Well-developed understanding of technical matters with attention ‎to details ‎
  • Proficiency in Revit, Autocad and Microsoft Office is a must
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate among disciplines and to produce a thorough set of working drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a technical team, share knowledge and collaborate
  • Well-developed ability to translate design ideas into workable building detailing and integrate technical data into working drawings
  • Experience in construction review is an asset
  • Familiarity of other 3D CAD software and rendering programs is an asset
  • Commitment to meeting strict deadlines, hardworking, self-motivated, passion to quality ‎and excellence, ‎and self-improvement‎
  • Ability to take direction and to adhere to strict quality standards
  • Good leadership and problem solving and people skills
  • Superior communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, of own work and others involved in the project

Positive attitude of responsibility and desire to learn are as important as your technical skills or even more.

Salary Range $65,000/year

This is a full-time in-office position (no remote work) with full benefits offered by the company and a yearly salary of $65,000 for 40 hours of work commensurate with experience
