Pye & Richards – Temprano & Young Architects Inc. (PR-TY) is Ottawa’s oldest continuously practicing firm and was founded in 1901. We cater to a diverse group of clientele which includes a well-balanced mix of Governmental, Institutional and Private Sector clients. We are currently active in a variety of projects delivered under existing Standing Offer arrangements with Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions (BGIS), Public Safety Canada (PSC), Public Works and Government Services Canada, (PWGSC) University of Ottawa and multiple School Boards in the greater Ottawa area and Eastern Ontario. Our Private Sector work includes Office buildings, Industrial Buildings, multi-unit residential projects. We have developed specialized expertise in the areas of restaurant design, and hi-tech offices. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a Draftsperson in the Architectural Discipline who will work together with the Architect to develop a construction drawing delivery plan with project timelines that satisfy the schedule. You will check, edit and mark up drawings as required. Your responsibilities include the performance of site visits to determine compliance with construction documents; and identify any deviations and liaise with Architect and contractor to resolve issues in a timely manner. In your role you will review project products, services and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls. You will participate as a key member of the firm’s project delivery team. 

CANDIDATE CRITERIA:

• Successful completion of a post secondary Architectural Technology program with 5-10 years post-graduation experience

• Proficient in Architectural and design software skills such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity and experience in Sketchup and Photoshop would be an asset. 

• Familiar with Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural permits and building codes

• Experience with construction inspection and site reviews.

• Prior experience in project management, project delivery, and client management.

• Ability to meet requirements to apply and receive applicable security clearances
