Architect or Architectural Technologist

Bart Szoke Architect Inc. is an established practice in Toronto working on customresidences, multi-unit residential, light commercial and institutional projects.

BSA seeks an architect or architectural technologist to manage and produce projects from inception to completion with moderate supervision. In this practice you will gain experience with regulations, approvals, design, building technology, construction, business practices and client relations. BSA offers excellent exposure to the work of architecture from design through to the production of construction drawings at a detailed level.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in the initial design and design development of projects in REVIT. This may include the production of high-resolution renderings.

  • Produce technical construction drawings, building models, and details to effectively communicate proposed building designs to clients, planners, engineers, and contractors.

  • Produce architectural drawings in REVIT.

  • Utilize your knowledge of architectural technology, building assembly, and construction methodology, to ensure technical excellence in all projects.

  • Apply architectural concepts, building code, and zoning requirements to develop architectural design documents to the satisfaction of the client(s).

  • Prepare and review working drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, and relevant zoning bylaws.

  • Coordination with external consultants to prepare high quality coordinated construction documents.

  • Stay current with industry trends and technical innovations, incorporating new ideas, models and technologies into projects.

  • Follow sustainable design practices and adhere to environmental standards.

 

Candidate Profile and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Architectural or Architectural Technologist Program.

  • 3+ Years of relevant full-time experience.

  • Strong skills in: Revit, AutoCAD, 3D visualization software, MS Office.

  • Strong understanding of building science, construction materials, construction methods, and architectural detailing.

  • Well versed in the Ontario Building Code.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal habits

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to keep track of multiple projects.

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment as well as independently

  • Construction experience is an asset

Starting salary at $50,000.
