Stanford Paul Downey, Architect
December 26, 1945 - October 28, 2023 

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stanford Paul Downey (Toronto, Ontario), who passed away on October 28, 2023 at the age of 77.

Over his long career as an architect, Stanford served on many architectural committees, including the OAA, and he will be well remembered for many of his buildings designed during his years with Clark Darling Downey Architects, Darling & Downey Architects, and Stanford Downey Architects, including the iconic 1 King Street West in downtown Toronto.

As per Stanford’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, but remembrances can be left for his family, friends, and colleagues here.
