THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for an Architectural Technologist to join our growing team. As a Technologist at DPAI, you'll have the opportunity to support our architectural projects from conception to completion in a fully integrated REVIT environment. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of working experience in a comparable role and a strong background in architectural design and construction documentation. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our projects are executed with precision, meeting quality standards and timelines. We're looking for someone who is passionate about sustainable design, and who is eager to learn and grow with our team.


REPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Architects and Project Managers to create architectural drawings, schematics, and construction documents primarily utilizing REVIT. You will coordinate construction contracts by overseeing project specifications, issuing change orders, conducting site visits, and ensuring alignment with design intent and industry standards. Maintaining quality control across all project phases, encompassing document preparation, design development, and construction, will be a primary responsibility. Additionally, you will collaborate with diverse teams comprising engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure efficient project coordination and communication. Staying current with building codes, regulations, and industry best practices to guarantee adherence to standards in project designs is essential. Furthermore, you will directly engage with clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and feedback throughout the project lifecycle, while also preparing comprehensive project documentation, encompassing reports, specifications, and construction administration records.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience.

  • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, Adobe DC Pro, Sketchup, and other relevant software.

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and detailing.

  • Strong knowledge of Building Codes, including the capability to perform Code reviews, fill out OBC Data Matrix, and competence in SB-10 and SB-12 requirements.

  • Proficient in sourcing ULC assemblies to suit various architectural situations.

  • Experience in Construction Phase and Contract Administration work.

  • Proficiency in writing and reading 3-part specifications.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
