New Insulation Report from the OAA’s SBEC
Heritage masonry structures are not typically energy efficient, but it is environmentally and financially unrealistic to replace all of these time-tested buildings with new net-zero ones. Hence, intensive energy retrofitting of these buildings is a key part of achieving a zero-carbon, energy-neutral future while maintaining Ontario’s cultural and architectural heritage.
“Interior Insulation Retrofitting Heritage Masonry Buildings: Best Practice Dos & Don’ts” is a new report authored by architect Eric A. Charron and Randy Van Straaten, P.Eng., on behalf of the OAA’s Sustainable Built Environments Committee (SBEC).
