Work Continues on New OAA Website

Responsive and Accessible Design, Better Organization Among Highlights

Content migration and digital material creation continues to be underway as the OAA readies its new website for launch in the spring. In addition to a revised Member Directory, the new website will differ from the existing oaa.on.ca in a few important ways.
Working with consultants Enginess and Sputnik Design Partners, the main priorities and objectives to be addressed in the redesign include meeting accessibility standards—the site is pursuing AODA compliance (WCAG 2.0  Level AA). The goal was also to restructure to meet the objectives of member support and public protection/awareness—this means two separate, but connected, domains for the public and member audiences.
Other aspects of the redesign include updating the content management system, redesigning the information in an engaging, user-friendly manner (including responsive layouts for cellphones and tablets), and allowing the site to eventually accommodate bilingual content.
Further editions of OAA News will discuss other aspects of the new website, including the events calendar and the “knowledge base” repository section, which includes various documents, contracts, Practice Tips, and more.
