2016 Profiles Directory

Theme: Architecture Matters
The theme for the 2016 edition of Profiles is “Architecture Matters” – There is an increase in the public’s awareness of design, its impact, and the environment—but are we each doing our part to ensure the message that architecture matters is being raised at every opportunity? ‘The Value of Architects and Architecture’ is understood by architects, but is the message resonating with our clients, the public and those who use the spaces we create? A strong message relies on strong voices. Participation in the dialogue about design, business and the positive impacts architects can make is integral to creating awareness about the value of hiring an architect and the services architects provide. There are issues which currently affect architects and architecture. The profession has a lot of ‘architecture matters’ on its mind. 

Practice Contact Information
Practices will be receiving an e-mail the week of July 27 from OAA/Naylor Publications Inc. to advise practices of their current contact information on file with the OAA. If you have updates to be made to your contact information, send your request by e-mail to the OAA, Office of the Registrar by August 31, 2015.

Be sure to take advantage of the marketing opportunities!
All practices are entitled to 8 FREE lines (maximum 30 words) in the hard copy publication to describe their services and expertise. There is also the option of getting an enhanced listings where you can include a logo or additional text for a fee. Would you like to publish an article in this year’s OAA Profiles Directory?
Profiles is the main OAA publication targeted to the public. The front end of the Directory has been designed to allow OAA members the opportunity to assist in educating the public about specific expertise and topics of interest within the profession.
We’re looking for diverse, personal interpretations from throughout the profession to provide insight into “Architecture Matters” and written to appeal to a broad public audience. Please see Theme above for more information.

Article Specifications

  • 600 – 1,200 words in length 
  • Images and/or graphics should accompany the submission
