IIDEXCanada & StopGap Foundation invites all students currently enrolled in a Canadian Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or Graphic Design accredited program to join in the 2015 StopGap Revamp Ramp Design Competition. Students are to design a graphic for a StopGap Ramp. The top 10 designs will be displayed at this year’s 2015 IIDEXCanada Show on December 2nd and 3rd at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the North Building.
StopGap Foundation’s vision is to create a world where every person can access every space. A world free of barriers would give everyone the opportunity to live a life full of independence, spontaneity, and ultimate fulfillment. StopGap’s mission is to help communities discover the benefit of barrier free spaces and provide support to create them.
Create a graphic to revamp the current StopGap Ramp. The idea is to promote accessibility in Toronto. The graphic for the ramp must incorporate the accessibility and barrier free design theme. Use existing StopGap ramp colours and choose a minimum of 3 colours to be incorporated into the graphic. Ramps and paint will be provided to the winners to create their winning design by the Carpenter’s Union (www.carpenterslocal27.ca) and Dulux (www.dulux.ca) by November 2nd 2015. The ramps will be donated to the StopGap Foundation to give to stores with a step up for accessibility.
