Job Summary:
As an integral member of the FM-PRO Department, the PROJECT MANAGER works as part of a team and leads and coordinates capital project activities under the direction of the Senior Director, New Patient and Surgical Tower.
We are looking for a member to join the team in the delivery of a New Patient and Surgical Tower at the Toronto Western Hospital, which is currently under construction. This brand new state-of-the-art 15-floor tower will include Surgical Services, ICU, In-Patient Units, Pharmacy, and a Medical Device Reprocessing Department. In collaboration with subject matter and technical experts, you will lead and manage the activities of the project team to ensure the successful participation of project stakeholders and the delivery of the project on-time, on-budget, and within identified scope.
You should be a highly organized individual with background and experience with leading and supporting healthcare capital projects, especially Ministry of Health (MOH) capital projects, where there is planning of multi-divisional, complex, construction projects with numerous dependencies with other projects or initiatives. You will work within a construction administration project phase and collaborate closely with the consultants and construction manager to manage various project tasks and processes. You will provide oversight and schedule coordination with UHN FFE team for equipment planning and procurement; coordination with ICAT team on technology integration and setup of end user devices; and coordination with operational readiness team in planning including process flow development for clinical care and facilities support.
Knowledge of the Construction Management CCDC-5B project delivery model will be an asset.

Duties:

Lead and manage various project tasks in the delivery of a complex large-scale construction project during the construction administration project phase to ensure alignment with project schedule, objectives and contractual obligations.

Be a liaison between UHN stakeholders, Consultant team and the Construction Manager for efficient exchange of information and facilitation of timely decision making

Oversee and support all aspects of projects including planning, coordination, tracking, evaluation and budget management

Preparation and maintenance of project documentation including proposals, contracts, project plans, budgets, meeting agendas, documents and decks

Monitor and report on risks and issues associated with the project to all stakeholders to and escalate as appropriate

Provide strategies for risk mitigation and resolution where appropriate

Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood

Schedule meetings with multiple stakeholders with complex calendars and manage meeting calendars and meeting resources

Review contract administration documentation and collaborate with consultants and the construction manager to provide timely review and approvals; ensuring effective oversight of construction progress and schedule

Provide oversight for maintenance of project records including correspondence, approvals and meeting records

Coordinate with FFE team on equipment purchases for Surgical Services, In-Patient Units, ICU, Pharmacy, and MDRD to align procurement and installation schedules with construction milestones

Coordinate with ICAT team on plans and schedules for technology integration and setup of end user devices in coordination with construction milestones

Coordinate with operational readiness team on transitioning planning and schedules for Surgical Services, In-Patient Units, ICU, Pharmacy, MDRD, and other facilities support teams in alignment with construction milestones, completion and commissioning dates.

Coordinate with consultant team and construction manager to provide direction to construction program processes and procedures, supporting project delivery and operational readiness
Qualifications

At minimum, completion of a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Health Administration, Science, Construction or other planning and management fields or recognized equivalent required

Minimum 7+ years related practical experience

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
-
Experience in working in a healthcare environment, major institutional or public sector is an asset
-
Knowledge in building technical codes and standards applicable to acute health care environments is an asset.

Knowledge of Broader Public Sector Procurement Directives and Supply Chain Guidelines is an asset
-
Experience with CCDC-5B Construction Management is an asset
-
Experience with furniture and equipment planning and procurement required

Experience with decanting and relocation of personnel, furniture and equipment required
-
Experience with commissioning is an asset
-
Excellent time management and prioritization and organizational skills required

Very strong verbal and written communication skills, to both internal and external stakeholders required.

Strong experience in coordination of multi-stakeholder meetings, including preparation of presentation materials, meeting minutes and meeting agendas

Responsive to urgent demands and short time lines
Salary Range: $90,285-$112,866
