Our Cool Blue Architects Inc. is currently seeing a Senior Architectural Technologist / Job Capitan

Currently our firm’s projects include a variety of commercial,  retail, corporate interiors, light industrial as well as high end single family residential.

 

Qualifications Include:

All Candidates must have a minimum of Eight (8) years Relevant experience and have the following profile:

  • Have strong design skills with ability to produce schematic design presentation drawings and 3D renderings

  • Be motivated, self directed & able to work independently and in a team

  • Have experience managing projects independently with exposure to all project phases

  • Have proven experience in the production of contract documents with superior drafting skills with attention to detail development

  • Be fully proficient & have working experience in the use of AutoCAD

  • Be fully proficient & have working experience in the use of  Revit

  • Have experience in commercial design (retail, banks, interior design,  corporate offices, light industrial)

  • Have experience with high end single family residential (part 9) design

  • Have experience with Site Plan Approval applications

  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and navigation of Zoning Bylaws.

  • Have experience with Building Permit Applications in various municipalities

  • Must have ability to coordinate consultants' work and drawings

  • Have experience with field review and contract administration

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Experience with time management of team resources effectively to undertake multiple project or facets of various projects

  • Experience in Sketchup / Lumion / Photo Shop/ InDesign is an asset

  • LEED Project Experience and LEED Accreditation  is an asset

  • Positive attitude and commitment to professional growth.

 

Duties Include:

  • Develop and prepare schematic and working drawings from preliminary concepts and sketches

  • Able to cover all aspects of construction documentation and project administration phases including preparing project specifications, project tendering, contract administration, shop drawing review and site inspections.

  • Co-ordinate with consultants and contractors to help provide necessary information and assist in solving problems.

  • Prepare occasional design sketches, 3D designs and presentation materials

  • Communicating and meeting with clients and consultants

  • Willing to undertake occasional travel for out of Town / Province projects

  • Depending on experience, growth potential into Associate Level  / Management Position within the practice

Compensation range $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
