Monica E. Kuhn, Architect Inc. is an award-winning firm in Cabbagetown, Toronto. For over 30 years we have been working primarily on residential projects in the downtown Toronto area, specializing in sustainable architecture and green roof design.

We are looking for a full-time Intern Architect to join our team.

The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in all aspects of residential architecture, a desire to solve design and construction challenges, find satisfaction in working closely with the Principal Architect on all project phases, and enjoy being part of an inclusive and collaborative office.

Intern Architect Salary Range $50K minimum; commensurate with applicable experience and qualifications.

The candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Master’s degree in architecture

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Architectural practice

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in preparing residential working drawings

• Advanced AutoCAD knowledge (version 2023). Sketchup is also an asset

• Working knowledge of OBC / construction details relating to residential projects

• Excellent oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multi-task and coordinate efforts on multiple projects

• Ability to deal directly with clients, contractors, product suppliers and other design professionals

• Ability to understand impacts of design on other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural)
