Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving Lanescape's growth and expanding its market presence. This position requires a dynamic and driven individual with a proven track record in business development, sales, and relationship management. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and fostering long-term client relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development and Lead Generation:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities in the laneway and garden suite market.
  • Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify potential target clients and partners.
  • Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to promote Lanescape's services and establish new connections.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute lead generation campaigns, including digital marketing initiatives.

 

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Understand clients' needs, preferences, and pain points, and provide tailored solutions to address their requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the onboarding process, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of any issues or concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Lanescape's services to prospective and current clients.

 

3. Strategic Partnerships and Collaborations:

  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships with complementary businesses, such as real estate agents, property developers, and home improvement companies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry associations, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Explore opportunities for joint ventures, collaborations, or co-marketing initiatives to expand Lanescape's reach and visibility.

 

4. Sales and Proposal Management:

  • Collaborate with the design and construction teams to develop compelling proposals and presentations for potential clients.
  • Negotiate and secure new contracts, ensuring alignment with Lanescape's business objectives and profitability targets.
  • Manage the sales pipeline, track opportunities, and provide regular updates to the leadership team.

 

5. Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with the architecture and construction teams to ensure timely client communication, seamless coordination and effective project execution.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Lanescape's overall business strategy and growth initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in the real estate, construction or home improvement industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying and closing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant business tools.
  • Familiarity with the Toronto real estate market and local building regulations is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Passion for sustainable design and urban living solutions.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000+ per year consisting of base salary + bonus, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
