Agata Z. Mancini

B.Arch, M.Arch, OAA

Agata Mancini is a Principal Architect at Assembled Light Inc., in Hamilton, as well as being an active member in the Hamilton-Burlington Society of Architects and the Young Architects of Hamilton. Both groups are advocates for architecture in the area, and their members have organized many initiatives to spark a conversation about architecture among the general public, and to promote its importance as a cultural movement. In 2016, she was selected to co-host the first "My Local Architect" tour organized by the YAH in partnership with the HBSA, during which she and fellow achitect John Mokrycke lead a group of 45 members of the public on an architectural limo tour of their favourite places in Hamilton.

Inherently, when speaking about architecture’s effect on citizens, sustainability tends to play a role, and so these two goals have always been what drive Agata in her work as an architect. This ambition holds true whether the project is a small-scale interior renovation, a brand new community centre and worship space or a high school addition intended to help foster a new and unconventional approach to education.

She hopes to continue contributing to healthy city-building, designing environments that have a positive effect on their users, and helping people see the importance of design in our daily lives: from the utensils we hold in our hands, to the built environment that surround us.
