    BIM Manager

    The BIM Manager will engage with our multi-disciplinary practice in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interiors Design on a broad range of projects at all phases. We are seeking a candidate who has expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit and is passionate about computational design tools and keen to expand their use throughout the studio by establishing and implementing standards and templates, researching new and innovative processes, conducting training and working directly with BIM coordinators to maintain quality control and ensure the seamless performance of projects. The successful candidate will also review and optimize existing workflows including the integration of various software packages and the development of components and scripts to support the creative process at FORREC.

    Qualifications include

    • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent with minimum 5 years of experience in design and/or architectural practice
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with project-specific BIM workflow from concept design to construction documentation

    • Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit
    • Thorough understanding of CAD applications and best practices
    • Ability to meet challenging time schedules
    • Detail-oriented and organized with ability to prioritize tasks and balance conflicting priorities
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel and Adobe Creative Suite
    • Ability to effectively communicate with management, project managers, peers and clients
    • Demonstrated interest in development of BIM solutions within a varied context
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively within a group as well as independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to convey BIM concepts to a broad audience with different levels of existing knowledge
    • Knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, and Sketchup is an asset
    • Parametric design experience and scripting is an asset
    • Experience in related creative industries such as film, gaming, interior design and landscape is an asset

    Duties include

    • Assist project teams in all disciplines to organize and efficiently use BIM software including implementation of BIM execution plan
    • Monitor projects for compliance and manage integrity and organization of BIM data
    • Provide ongoing technical support to project teams
    • Assist with creation of project-specific parametric families
    • Mentor project teams on best practices and tips and tricks to improve workflow

    • Work with studio leaders in all disciplines (Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design) to develop BIM standards and templates to maintain quality and consistency of design environment and deliverables
    • Audit and refine existing Revit content and detail libraries
    • Assist with implementation of FORREC Revit Standards strategies and collaborate with project teams to optimize digital workflows

    Training/BIM Support Tasks
    • Conduct training and monitor projects to ensure consistent Revit workflow
    • Provide ongoing guidance to staff to optimize Revit features and follow project modeling standards
    • Provide studio-wide BIM support
    • Maintain knowledge of current industry best practices
    • Maintain and update studio standards and guidelines

    IT Tasks
    • Conduct hardware and software testing to maximize overall performance
    • Complete annual software and project upgrades
    • Assist IT with assembling software deployment packages
