    Intern Architect

    ICKE BROCHU Architects Inc. is an architectural practice located at Portland and Wellington Street West in downtown Toronto. The firms’ portfolio focuses on single family, multi-family and seniors residential developments within the Greater Toronto area.

    We are currently seeking an Intermediate Intern Architect with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience that will work close with the principals at the early stages of design. The candidate must have strong skills in conceptual design in 2D and 3D formats, project management experience and the ability to produce preliminary and design development drawings for City Application Submissions. Candidates should have general knowledge of Building Systems, the Ontario Building Code and the ability to develop and coordinate design documents with minimal supervision. We are looking for an individual with broad expertise and experience in the residential discipline.

    Qualifications include:

    • Degree in Architecture and registered as an intern with the OAA
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient in AutoCAD 2018 and Sketch-up 3D modeling
    • Proficient using Adobe Creative Suite package
    • General knowledge of the OBC, specifically Parts 3 and 9
    • Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Power point and Excel
    • Ability to work well with clients, consultants, authorities having jurisdiction and colleagues

    Duties include:

    • Ability to create quick initial design concepts
    • Preparation of presentation material for client and city submissions
    • Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision and ensure the flow of information
    • within the project team
    • Identify and solve technical design issues
    • Develop architectural drawings from preliminary design to construction document stage
    • Coordination of architectural and consultants drawings as required
    • Ability to work well with clients, consultants and colleagues
    • Perform industry research including: the building code, city by-law information and design research
