On Thursday, November 8, the OAA hosted the fourth annual now
Lecture Series to a sold-out crowd of approximately 200 guests, including OAA members, students and architectural enthusiasts. It was the second year that the event, which features a talk by the year’s winners of the Best Emerging Practice Award, was held at the Berkley Church in Toronto. This venue once again provided an intimate yet spacious setting for the wonderful annual event. The pre-lecture reception encouraged dialogue and discussion on architecture and was continued following the hour-long presentation.
The evening’s speakers, Amy Lin and James Chavel of SUULIN ARCHITECTS inc
., illustrated the mandate of the OAA now
Lecture Series, discussing their story, contribution to the profession and experience as a young practice. Their 6-person architecture firm is a holistic design practice that stresses an integrative approach to architecture and design, placing a great emphasis on connections with nature, site and landscape.
The OAA would like to thank SUULIN ARCHITECTS inc., and all those who attended the now Lecture, for helping to make the evening’s success possible.
