New Electric Vehicle Charging Station Regulations Taking Effect

Under the Condominium Act, new regulations for electric vehicle charging stations (EVCSs) take effect on May 1. These changes are intended to support the Provincial Government’s Climate Change Action Plan, and create requirements to make it easier for condo owners and corporations to install EVCSs on condo property. While these changes apply to existing condominium buildings, changes under the Ontario Building Code for EVCSs in new houses and non-residential buildings came into effect on January 1, 2018.
