Due Date: March 9, 2018
The theme of the 2018 Institute is “A Space for Everyone! Decolonizing Library Places in the Spirit of Reconciliation”. What does it mean to decolonize library spaces and places? Join experts and colleagues to consider how we create, view and use library spaces, while making them more relevant and accessible for all. Learn more about culturally appropriate space planning and design strategies to create more responsive spaces.
Multiple perspectives are encouraged in presentations. Presentations by architects must be made with a library client or service provider and may include other professionals, e.g. interior designer. Each session can accommodate a maximum of three presenters. The session topics should explore the different meanings, applications, and implications of this theme within the broader context of the decolonization.
Sessions are 75 minutes long.
