- DISCOVER AN ARCHITECT
Framed within the backdrop of the historic 130-year-old Gladstone Hotel, ‘Come Up To My Room’ invites artists and designers to create a 4-day site-specific, immersive installations that stimulate the imagination and encourage discussion and dialogue between contributors and visitors alike. #CUTMR2019 will feature over 20 projects with over 50 participants! Join CUTMR2019 curators Jana Macalik, Jennie Suddick, and Lee Petrie in celebrating 16 years of art and design at Toronto’s leading art hotel.
BAM! KAPOW! ZAAAAP!
Space and scale are twisted and reimagined through interactive and tactile installations at this year’s Come Up To My Room! As an antidote to our current uncertain times and gloomy contemporary issues, these works revel in playfulness and lightheartedness. Here, artists and designers are the optimistic superheroes we need- providing us with creative solutions and shifts in perspectives through these spaces that remove us from our everyday. Light, colour, and sound are warped to create fun (yet at times uncomfortable) spaces that bring familiar elements and creative approaches to life in unexpected ways. KABLOOEY!
