This session will talk about the steps you need to take to successfully transition your ownership through an internal or external acquisition.  You will understand why value is the most important commodity you need to be building within the firm – not only financial but intrinsic. Fun case studies and requisite horror stories included.

Speaker:

Deborah Gill is a fractional CFO at Precision Measurements, Inc. a 50+ woman-owned surveying firm in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Prior to this position she was Director of Business Operations at Clark Nexsen, a 500+ person firm in the mid-Atlantic area and owned her own firm for 14 years, Profit by Design, Ltd., which provided management and systems consulting services to A/E firms using Deltek software.
 
Deborah has been a member of SDA for 27 years. She has held the positions of Treasurer and President at the SDA chapter level and is currently certification chair and editor of the SDAHRC monthly Snapshot.
 
Nationally, she is a past President (twice) and a past Treasurer. She founded the SDA Past President’s Council Education Foundation with our ED, Stephanie Kirschner, to provide scholarships to SDA members to attend EDSymposium. She helped found Canstruction® Inc. with Cheri Melillo and continues as treasurer and a member of the national Board of Directors. She is active in Women United and as chair of Board of the D’Art Center in her community.
 
She holds a BA in foreign service from the University of Mary Washington, is a licensed CPA, and is a Certified Design Firm Administrator (CDFA).
